Orange County Vacay

This week was our Orange County Vacay, which we usually take while Scott is working Fall Camp. As always, we had a wonderful time with Jenny and her kids and the Gunther family.  We spent one day just hanging out at Mimi's place, where the kids created an art gallery and Nate ran the catering booth:There was a water fight:
On the last day, the boys and I went to Mission San Juan Capistrano so Luke could follow up on his social science curriculum and work to improve his final grade by doing some writing. The mission is so beautiful; we especially liked seeing grapes growing on the vine, mining for gold and making adobe bricks.
The night before the mission, we went to the San Clemente pier, which was really cool, since I haven't been there since I was young. Jenny reminded me to summon my mother's parking karma, which worked like a charm. We took the kids down to fisherman's restaurant on the pier; beforehand they got to play in the waves. Nate said he hated the beach, because there was a short break and lots of rocks. After dinner me and my boys walked out on the pier and watched  the fishermen catching mackerel. The weather was so beautiful and so was the view!
It was great to have time with all of our cousins, because cousins are very special! I'm always so glad that my kids get to spend this time with family.
Especially because we do great things, like go to the fair to see the MooonWalker, a Michael Jackson impersonator. At the fair, my kids have become quite the little daredevils, riding the Tilt a Whirl and other fast-spinning, exciting rides!

We can't wait to go back next year!!!!
