Today was Luke's last day at La Primera. They celebrated his birthday since it falls during summer, and his teacher made him this amazing crown. Although I am excited to take Luke to Kindergarten, I am very, very sad that we will be saying goodbye to La Primera preschool, where Luke has been going for the past two years. La Primera is the other happiest place on earth. With the chickens and the garden, the water play and egg crates, driving tunnel and sushi-making classes, La Primera has been a boys paradise, and the perfect introduction to schooling for my boy. The teachers there are truly some of my favorite people, Ms. Carrie (Cole and Peyton's mommy) and her joyfulness, Ms. Laurie and her edgy appreciation for the creative child, Ms. Colleen's sweetness, Ms. Alba's gift for teaching the fundamentals in a boy-friendly way ("P" is for Pirates!!!!)... I can only say that I hope we are as lucky to encounter teachers as dedicated and loving as these when we enter public school.
And we're not saying goodbye for long, since Nate will be eligible in fall 2010 (can you believe it?!).
