Tahoe

Ah! The annual Tahoe trip! This year Scott drove up ahead with Nate, his sisters, and Chloe, and then Luke, Kurt and I followed a few days later when TUSD let out for summer. Heidi rode in the car with Scott and Nate. Moved by Nate's singing in the back, Heidi promptly nicknamed him "The Owl", because of his constant "hoo, hoo" to the songs.

This quality time with his family, away from his mother, has brought Nate closer to especially his Aunt Heidi. A few weeks after the trip, I was in the living room, and when Nate saw me, he exclaimed, "You look like Aunt Heidi!" all because I was donning a long-sleeved, grey T-shirt (one of her signature looks). He still asks all the time to go back to the Tahoe House.

We had a great time this year and tried some new adventures, namely riding the Tahoe Queen to Emerald Bay, which was awesome. During our boat ride, we saw a bear wading in the lake, and spotted a GIANT eagle's nest. We saw an old West re-enactment on board, and enjoyed the views from the various decks.

We also stayed some at the Tahoe House and some at a nearby lodge (courtesy of our Bumpa). The lodge offered a pool with swim noodles and other toys, a small park, and fresh popcorn in the lobby.

We are looking forward to another Tahoe Adventure in 2012!
