Carpenteria

This year we spent Memorial Day camping in Carpenteria with our friends, the Ormsby's, the family Gutierrez, Scotte Massey & kids, the Garriotts, and for one afternoon, the Campbells. We had a great time!

Several Christmases ago, Scott bought our family a gigantic tent, with two rooms and three sleeping nooks (one is actually a dog room). Luke set up camp in the dog room, while Nate's nook housed the pack and play. Scott and I set up the air mattress, which promptly deflated (sleeping on the hard ground sucks). But camping was so fun! Every 20 minutes, a train came by the campsite- I know it sounds awful- but to Nate is was perfect paradise! Our site was right across from a grass area, so the boys played lots of baseball and football when they weren't body surfing or playing in the sand. Sitting all day at the shore, we saw dolphins swim by while we relaxed, drank, and ate brownies.
The kids were great and needed little attention- they had so many playmates. Here, Nate and Surina (also known as "Scary Rina") spend hours filling the bucket at the beach! Below, the boys are playing and endless game of army men...

When in Carp, you must head over to the Spot for shakes and fries. Zeke, Quinn and Luke enjoyed getting wild on the tricycles on our way back to the campsite. We spent a lot of time biking and riding scooters.
We can't wait until next year!

Brownies?!? Do you need a new inflatable for Christmas? Also---Nate is ready for a change in sleeping requirements...i.e. it was a perfect opportunity to have him sleep big boy style. Plus less of a hassle for you...just a thought

Sounds like a blast! Pass the brownies. I might hit you up to borrow that gigantic tent one of these days!
